+ I am NEW to lip filler. Do I need a consultation first?

Yes, the consultation is the most important part of the injectable process to feel educated and more importantly, feel empowered. At POUTx, our consultation is a Consultation Webinar that you can watch at your own convenience, hosted by Megan (our founder). + I HAVE HAD lip filler in the past from another clinic. Can you top me up?

Unfortunately, we do not inject on top of old filler done by previous providers. All injectors use different techniques and different products, therefore to ensure our brand standard is maintained all previous filler must be dissolved prior to your visit at POUTx. If you’ve had lip injections in Toronto, please go back to that clinic and get them dissolved. If you’ve had them done outside of Toronto, please call the office and we can evaluate your situation on a case-by-case basis.

Once the filler is dissolved, please watch the Consultation Webinar, which you can access by clicking on the BOOK NOW button and following the NEWBIE trail. We do require all new clients to watch this content prior to booking their first procedure to better understand our process.

+ I just want a "lip flip", can you do this?

A "lip flip" is done with Botox and only specific individuals qualify as a proper candidate. Unfortunately, we do not offer a lip flip on its own and will only perform this procedure on appropriate candidates as an add on to either the ARCHITOX treatment or the lip filler treatment.

+ What type of filler do you use?

Your injector will choose the correct dermal lip filler for your lips based on an assessment. Most often we are using Revanesse Kiss and on occassion Revanesse Ultra or Stylage S. Remember, product is only ONE factor that goes into making the perfect pout.

+ How long does the filler last and how often should I get my lips redone?

You can expect the filler result to change anywhere from 6-9 months, however this does NOT mean the filler is completely gone. It is extremely important to NOT continuosly fill the lips as this leads to migration and the unattractive filler moustache. We are neurotic in maintaining our brand standard, therefore we will only add additional filler if we believe it is in your best interest.

+ How will I know if I need a full syringe or a half syringe?

Your POUTx injector always has your best interests in mind and will let you know the appropriate amount required to give our signature Hydrated NOT Inflated look. Generally, patients will start out with one syringe and then at 6-9 months top-up with a half syringe.

+ What is the healing process like?

The lips are extremely vascular therefore, you will have significant swelling and possibly some bruising post procedure. The first 48 hours are always the worst in terms of swelling, but usually by Day 5 the lips start to appear more 'normal'. By Day 7 the lips will appear settled, however it is a full 2 week time frame for the filler to fully soften and integrate properly. At this time you will come for your 2-week checkup so that we can ensure the result is nothing short of flawless.

+ Is there anything I need to do before coming to my lip filler appointment?

For the POUTx NEWBIES, please ensure you sign up to our Consultation Webinar before booking your lip appointment. We know you are excited, but it is extremely important to learn about our process before moving ahead with anything. We want all of our clients to be fully educated and empowered. As for pre-care, please avoid blood thinners for a few days leading up to your appointment. This includes things such as drinking alcohol and natural supplements such as fish oils and gingko.

+ I would like a lip enhancement or augmentation to change the shape of my lip, can you do this?

+ Can I achieve the same results from lip plumper?

No, lip plumper holds onto moisture on the lips’ surface which causes a localized swelling effect. Lip plumper is temporary whereas when fillers are directly injected into the lip, the hyaluronic acid molecules attract water for a longer-lasting hydrated appearance.
